Anti Slavery

Last updated: 5th January 2024

  1. Introduction
    1. Modern slavery is a tragic global phenomenon that we all must work together to eradicate. It is contrary to good business and destroys lives and communities. Modern slavery can take various forms, such as slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labour and human trafficking.
    2. Acuigen is committed to managing this issue in our own business and supply chain to make a positive impact on the people and communities we serve. We do not tolerate modern slavery in any form and we are committed to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure this is the case.
  2. Working with Acuigen
    1. We require that all persons working for us, or on our behalf in any capacity, including directors, employees at all levels, officers, agency workers, volunteers, interns, agents, contractors, external consultants, third-party representatives and business partners support this policy.
    2. Our Principles are that:
    • Management at all levels are responsible for ensuring their staff understand and comply with our anti-slavery policy and are given adequate and regular training on it and the issue of modern slavery in supply chains;
    • Everyone is responsible for preventing, detecting and reporting modern slavery if it is encountered;
    • A senior member of staff takes responsibility to oversee this policy;
    • If anyone becomes aware of or suspects that modern slavery is taking place, they must immediately notify Acuigen’s CEO or COO. This applies whether or not the suspected slavery involves Acuigen or one of its third party suppliers; and
    • We will communicate these principles with all new members of staff and ensure they are adequately trained.
  3. Outcomes
    1. We want to work with suppliers who can support these principles and are willing to communicate this policy to all employees, suppliers and their supply chain, contractors and business partners at the outset of business relationships with them.
    2. We may terminate our relationship with other individuals and organisations working on our behalf if they breach this policy.
